ACHIEVING | Established
in 1863, The Children's Home (TCH) of Catonsville, Maryland is a residential care
facility that provides both long- and short-term services to youth 8 to 21 years
of age who have experienced abuse, neglect, violence, abandonment, and/or are
in need of supervised care. Located less than a mile from Baltimore City, TCH
provides services to children of every race, creed, color, and religion. We provide
therapeutic programs where children feel secure, loved and have a sense of belonging.
The
Home's programs and activities provide an opportunity for the children to attend
public schools, develop self-esteem, and experience trusting relationships with
peers and adults. Our programs focus on enhancing each child's ability to function
successfully in society with attention to accountability and community safety:
The
Group Home consists of a long-term residential
program for boys and girls ages 8 to 20 and a group extended living program
for young men ages 17 to 21.
The
Emergency Shelter for Girls is an 8-bed, short-term
emergency shelter for girls 8 to 13 years of age needing immediate removal from
their present living situations.
The Treatment
Foster Care Program provides temporary, specialized care
to youth with behavioral or social/emotional problems. This program
serves boys and girls ages 3 to 18 in structured treatment foster homes
within the community.
