As a nonprofit organization, The Children's Home depends on the generosity of the public to maintain high standards in residents' academic performance, facility improvements and expansion, and innovative programs. The Home has been blessed with many volunteers during our 147 years of services.
We invite you to become part of a statewide network for children and families. There are enough opportunities to match your interests and available time. Training programs are available for all volunteer positions.
Volunteers participate in a variety of activities according to their interests and expertise. They are involved in outreach to the community, developing volunteer programs, and have a role in fundraising activities for the Home. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Caregivers work directly with the children in such roles as mentors, tutors, or coaches.
Homekeepers help with projects and activities around the Home including maintenance projects, beautification projects, and special events.
Community Advocates spread the word around their neighborhood about the work and needs of The Children's Home.
Donor Club members assist the work of The Children's Home by making regular financial contributions.
Foster Parents: Those interested in becoming Treatment Foster Care Parents should contact the Treatment Foster Care program at 410-368-1306 and explore the "Foster Parent" wedsite page.
Individuals wishing to volunteer at The Children's Home can download and complete the Volunteer Application; completed applications can be faxed (410-455-0071) or emailed to Theresa Johnson at tjohnson@thechildrenshome.net.
Groups interested in service projects do not need to complete a volunteer application, but should contact Theresa Johnson at the numbers and addresses above.
